We categorized the materials into application groupings in order to simplify the introduction to the world of iglidur® materials and to provide an initial orientation. The respective group assignment points to the outstanding properties of an iglidur® material. However, this can frequently not be done without overlap, since a material is generally characterised by several core properties. For example, the material iglidur® A500 is assigned to the application grouping of FDA compliant materials. At the same time this material also also rated for a long-term service temperature of 250°C.
The substances contained in all iglidur® materials comply with the requirements of Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2).

You can use one of the five standards - iglidur® G, W300, J, X, and M250 - for almost all applications with non-lubricated, dry-running bushings. Together they cover a huge range from extremely dirt-accumulating applications (iglidur® M250) up to ambient conditions that include contact with chemicals and 250°C (iglidur® X). iglidur® G is the best decathlete that is a cut above the average in almost all disciplines. This group summarizes iglidur® materials that have virtually universal use under normal conditions (temperature, media, etc.). These include iglidur® GLW and iglidur® J4 as low-cost solutions for mass production.
iglidur® P and iglidur® K have similar potential to iglidur® G in conjunction with markedly reduced moisture absorption, which is a benefit in damp environments.
Of course, each iglidur® plain bearing is optimized for wear, but the materials in this group, such as the standards iglidur® J and iglidur® W300, are characterized by particularly low wear rates, resulting in long service life. In addition to their absolute service life and price level, these materials are differentiated, among other characteristics, by their potential temperature and load ranges, as well as their use in combination with special shaft materials.
Here, you will find high temperature specialists for long-term service temperatures up to 250°C (exception: iglidur® V400 at 200°C). iglidur® X6 can now surpass the standard solution iglidur® X in these regards in many rotating and pivoting applications. iglidur® Z has for some time now established itself as the standard with extremely low wear rates under high load and/or temperatures. iglidur® V400 has shown to be a problem solver for many special applications and iglidur® UW500 is the specialist for hot liquids.
Being almost on a par with the aforementioned group with respect to temperatures, the "iglidur® H family" has proven itself with its high resistance to media and a broad range of uses for wet applications. iglidur® H370 is the specialist for underwater applications, iglidur® H2 the media-resistant, low cost solution for mass production with low operational performance and iglidur® H1 the endurance runner in this group.
The iglidur® is at home where it should not be lubricated and the highest hygiene is required. Where would this be more true than in the food processing industry? This group is comprised of FDA compliant materials for the most varied application conditions with regards to moisture and temperature, and with iglidur® T220, the group even includes a material for the tobacco industry.
The iglidur® specialists for high loads, high wear resistance combines with the ability to withstand high (static) loads, shock and edge loads. As part of these properties, they all come with their own particular strengths. High loads mean radial surface pressures from 30 to far beyond 100 MPa (100 MPa corresponds to 1000 kg on a bushing of 10 mm x 10 mm).
