igus is known for offering the simplest solutions to your challenges. We have tried to apply this principle to control system technology too. No complicated or expensive connecting cable, no special protocol, no software. A motor control system via web server. But what does that actually mean? We will answer these questions on this page.

If you don't know yet, the D1 dryve control system is the control system for stepper, DC and EC/BLDC motors. The web-based control system is designed so that customers can control their existing motors in the same way as the igus motors.
You can find out more about the control system in this blog article:
A web server is used to transfer data to clients such as for example a web browser. A web server is the computer with web server software or just the web server software itself. In our case, it's the D1 dryve motor control system. The "software" required to configure the D1 therefore works directly on the D1 dryve. This means that you don't need to install any software on your computer to configure the control system. You just need a current web browser which is installed on every conventional computer anyway. So, you'll have no trouble with the IT department because of rules that are once again too strict for the programmer. Faster commissioning, less effort.
Quick tip: you can also take advantage of web browsers. Zooming, creating PDFs, downloading and uploading configurations or simply searching the internet for manuals in parallel. A huge advantage if you're in a hurry.
Physically, the connection is established via a conventional Ethernet cable. RJ45 on both sides. Plug it in. Read out the IP address and enter it in the browser. Works. This also works in connection with a WLAN router to use mobile devices or via switch with several control systems.
The IP address is assigned dynamically. This means it adapts to your computer. The following video shows how to find the IP address.
