Revolutionary TV mount with PRT slewing ring bearing from igus®: Electric TV mount pushMAXI-TELE+ROTO

Innovative functionality and attractive design for private households and businesses

The pushMAXI-TELE+ROTO from Gruber Systems GmbH is an electric TV mount that uses its versatile functions to perfectly showcase the TV hanging horizontally below the ceiling. The TV can be electrically pivoted from the ceiling to a vertical position with ease. In addition, the electric telescopic function enables adjustment by up to 500mm downwards into the room. The TV can also be manually rotated through 360° using an igus® PRT slewing ring bearings.

The mount is used both in private households and in the commercial sector. In private living areas, it is ideal for larger areas and can be flexibly aligned. When folded up, it provides an unobstructed view through a glass front and hangs unobtrusively from the ceiling so that you can simply walk underneath it.

In the commercial sector, the pushMAXI-TELE+ROTO is often used in meeting rooms, hotel lobbies, fitness rooms and other multifunctional spaces.

Profile

  • What was needed: A slewing ring bearing that allows rotation through 360°.
  • Requirements: It should be pivoting, telescopic and at the same time rotatable up to 360°. In addition, the innovative unique selling points, such as the absence of lubricants to prevent contamination of technical devices, as well as freedom from maintenance and quiet operation for optimum comfort, are desirable.
  • Industry: Furniture and interiors

Problem

During the development of the pushMAXI-TELE+ROTO, one central challenge took centre stage: the space-saving and unobtrusive installation of televisions on the ceiling. Both mechanical functionality and aesthetic design had to be taken into account.

The main focus was on ensuring smooth running. The TV mount should move silently and smoothly to ensure a pleasant viewing experience. In addition, ease of use was of paramount importance in order to maximise convenience for users. Developing an intuitive mechanism that is both precise and smooth-running was another challenge.

Solution

The PRT-01-50 slewing ring bearing from igus® proved to be the perfect choice, as it enabled extremely backlash-free rotation and was therefore able to cope with the loads and lever forces without any problems. The ease of movement of the bearing in particular played a decisive role.

In addition, the NT-35-AR-520 rail was chosen, which was characterised by its high stiffness when extended. The weight feature and the possibility of full extension were also decisive factors in the decision. It was also particularly advantageous that the rails are now also available in black, which perfectly matches our requirements.

Thanks to the use of the PRT-01-50 slewing ring bearing and the NT-35-AR-520 rail, it was possible to develop a solution that fulfils the highest demands in terms of both functionality and aesthetic appearance.
